Relax… Everything will fall into place!

Hey guys! I hope you have all had a lovely week and you’re prepared for the week ahead. I have decided I am going to TRY to post a new blog every fortnight, on a Sunday. This is because quite a few of you have asked me to be more consistent with my blogging, which is great as it means you’re interested and enjoy reading them. However, we’ve got to remember I only post when I have the urge to jot down my feelings about a certain thing; on some occasions, I may not have anything to talk about or feel the need to express how I feel just yet. This is all authentic so I won’t just write for the sake of writing. Now, before I get into today’s blog, I do want to announce that a few changes are going to be made to my WordPress website (hooray!). Although I’m still quite new to this, I do want to make it look more aesthetically pleasing not just for you guys but for myself. This means that I’m going to have to play around and watch a few youtube tutorials on how to make it look good. So, in the next blog expect things to be a little different, hey change isn’t always a bad thing! In fact, we should always embrace change.

Finally, we can get into today’s blog… I know I’m not the only person who constantly thinks about their future. I know when people often think about it, things such as how many kids are they going to have, companionship, marriage etc all come into mind. I, for one, don’t think about such. I’m more into will I be where I want to be and doing what I love five years from now, will I still be living in the UK and will I be able to tick everything off my bucket list? There were times when thinking of my future would cause me to feel a little bit stressed because we all just want to be happy and successful, right? If I’m honest I think the reason why I would feel stressed is that I would look at other people my age and kind of compare my life to theirs. Take an Instagram influencer for example. I would see that at 18, they’re flying up and down to different countries, being paid to promote clothes and/or even have their own businesses. I would then look at my life and although it was fine, I would start to think otherwise. That’s where I went wrong. I cannot stress enough why comparing your life to someone else’s is a very bad thing to do. Firstly, you don’t know what that person had to do or go through to get where they are, everyone’s journey is different; you should only be in competition with yourself! Trying to better yourself day in and day out. Also, remember people only show you what they want you to see. I’ve watched and read a lot of youtube videos and articles where some influencers/celebrities who you would think are the happiest of them all, have spoken about how things aren’t quite as they seem and the struggle they had to go through to get where they are now.

For a good few months now, I have really just been embracing and ‘enjoying the process’ of figuring life out. Don’t get me wrong I like to set myself targets at the beginning of the year and so far I have completed two of those things. In fact, let me share them with you now – getting my drivers license and going to the gym 3/4 times a week (I now try to go 5 times a week). All in all, I just feel as though a lot of us tend to forget just how young we are and how it really is okay not to have everything figured out right now. There are people in their thirties, forties and even fifties who are still trying to figure out life. When I look back at how far my family and I have come I can’t help but be so grateful and thank God. I’m fortunate to have never gone without, to always have love from the right people around me and to be able to travel and see different places. We can’t forget the small things like education, food, health and even being able to walk/read/write.

Is my life perfect? Far from it. Am I content, learning, loving and growing? Yes. There are so many people in this world that would do anything to have the things that so many of us take for granted in our day to day life.

I’m going to leave you guys with a quote that I think just about fits what I’ve spoken about:

”Be grateful for where you are and excited about where you’re going”. So far this year for me has been great and I’m even more excited for the future. I have seen things that I have prayed for for years, finally happen and maybe one day I’ll share it with you all. I get told I’m such a positive person and honestly, it’s one of the best compliments. Of course, there are times where negative thoughts cross my mind but I just tend to not dwell on them and quickly switch back to the positive state of mind. I’m a firm believer that a positive mindset produces positive outcomes.

Now, before I really end this blog, I just want to say thank you to all of you who show me so much support and encourage me to continue blogging. Thank you for just taking the time to read them, it is honestly very much so appreciated.

If you like this post or any of my previous posts, don’t hesitate to share them with your family and friends. Like, comment, do whatever you please. I’ll hopefully be back with a new blog in two weeks. Wishing you all a lovely week ahead!

I don’t class myself as a writer despite the fact I'm here on WordPress. I'm just here to blog my thoughts and experiences on everything and anything. Who knew blogging could be so therapeutic? Thank you for taking the time to read my blogs. Feel free to like, comment and share them with family and friends! - Fi
