A year older and wiser.

Hey guys, so this is my first blog post being 20 years of age. Yes, twenty. How the years have flown by I just don’t know, but they have. My 19th chapter was by far one of the best chapters of my life, it taught me more than I imagined it would but I’m grateful for it all.

I’ll be honest with you guys, I was dreading turning twenty. I wouldn’t say I was thinking negatively about it but the realisation that I would no longer be a teenager kind of sunk in and I was thinking ”oh, so am I meant to have my life together by now or am I going at the correct pace?” but I soon realised that I shouldn’t be worried about such, everything that is happening to me now is happening for a reason and I’m good. This links back to a blog I posted earlier on this year http://faraidenise.home.blog/2019/03/24/relax-%e2%80%8b-everything-will-fall-into-place/ where I  spoke about how we shouldn’t compare our lives to those we see online or anyone in general and ENJOYING the process of figuring life out. I won’t speak about it too much but feel free to check it out.

I was overwhelmed by the birthday love I received on Monday. I’m not someone who expects happy birthday messages/phone calls so when I do receive them I’m grateful. Throughout the whole day, I was either smiling or laughing, just how I wanted it to be. Just before turning twenty I decided to make a list of the things I want to achieve this year and made a few ‘life’ changes. I have decided that I want to completely quit drinking alcohol for a few reasons. I have never been a big drinker anyway but I think it’s time I change my lifestyle and I feel so good about it. I’m also cutting down on how much meat I eat in hopes of becoming a pescatarian in the near future. These are things I have been wanting to do for a while now but being the procrastinator I can be, I just kept saying ‘next time’ but not anymore. In my 19th chapter, I was able to finally pass my driving test after numerous attempts which showed me that I can honestly do anything I put my mind to. This is something I am carrying with me into this new decade.

For those of you dreading your upcoming birthday and turning a year older, please see it as a blessing. Each chapter you enter is a blessing. Each new chapter means you have the chance to better and improve the previous one. I’m a big believer that you should start how you wish to finish.

Here are a few quotes I came across today and I felt it was important I shared them with you:

”The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.”

”We should celebrate every year that we made it through and every year that we’re happier and healthier.”

”Life isn’t about your age. Life is about living. So when your birthday comes be thankful for the year that has just past and anticipate with a happy heart what the coming year will bring.”

I decided to make this blog pretty short and sweet but I hope you still enjoyed reading it.

Until next time…

Xo.
