Detox. Out with the old, in with the new.

Hey to you all! I’ve had a crazy couple of months.
Over the last few months, I’ve gone through a series of emotions I would say. As many of you may know I’m a pretty positive person but even the most positive of people have their “down days”. No one on this earth is happy 24/7. Sadly, that’s unrealistic. Over the years, I’ve learned that it’s okay not to be okay. It’s okay to feel a little bit down for whatever reason but how you choose to recover from this little blip is all down to you. Whether you choose for this mood to continue for the whole day, week or month is all down to you.
When I don’t feel myself, I often like to have a detox from everything and everyone on social media. I’m not a social media head at all, so doing this for me is fairly easy. Being the introverted person I am, I feel I can only be around people for so long. You’ll probably realise that this blog has no structure and I’ll go from talking about one thing to another but this is just a glimpse of how my mind works at times. Bare with me.
So, my detox stage was one of the reasons why I was absent from you guys but another big reason was the fact it was/is summer. We are now in September, I personally wouldn’t class this as summer.
This summer for me was most definitely the best and most eventful summer of my life. It was one of those summers I’ll remember for a very long time. A summer where I really just got to enjoy life and live quite care free. I travelled to three different countries with my last trip being Zimbabwe. Going back to Zimbabwe after six years away was amazing. Although I wasn’t born in Zim, for me it feels like home; I feel happy and stress free whenever I’m there. There’s something about the spirit and strength Zimbabweans have that I admire so much. Despite whatever is going on in the country the people still get on with life and try to enjoy as much as they can. My eyes were really opened and my mindset was completely changed during my trip to Zim.
Over the past couple of months, I’ve really been deep in my thoughts and have taken some time to really think about what I want in this life. So many times I have questioned my purpose and whether I was heading in the right direction. However, whilst in Zim I found this burning passion to really and truly make a change in this world. I wouldn’t say I’ve had a career change, not at all, but I definitely want to be a lot more involved, in other areas, than I had originally planned. I’m lucky to be surrounded by a few very selfless people, who inspire me to be more selfless in this world. I go on a lot about how blessed I am, but, I think it’s super important we all say, remember and believe just how blessed we are.
Before I end this blog and start on a new one (if you follow me on Instagram you may already know what it’s going to be about), I feel it’s important I share with you something I learnt or more so, come to realise these past few months:
Once you learn to accept situations for what they are and also most importantly people for who they are, I genuinely believe things in life will be a whole lot easier to deal with and handle. At times, it’s not always as easy as that but this is where you decide whether you are willing to sacrifice your peace (of mind) due to a situation totally out of your control.
A massive thank you to those who have supported me and continue to support me with my blogging.  To any new readers, welcome and enjoy getting to know me a little better!

I don’t class myself as a writer despite the fact I'm here on WordPress. I'm just here to blog my thoughts and experiences on everything and anything. Who knew blogging could be so therapeutic? Thank you for taking the time to read my blogs. Feel free to like, comment and share them with family and friends! - Fi
